To save Sin City she must battle Hell…too bad the odds are against her.
Beneath the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas lies another city. A secret city in plain sight, full of warlocks and demons, shapeshifters and golems. A city that feeds off the chance magick that is generated by gamblers and which is ruled by mysterious beings called the Oddsmakers.
It is in this strange underbelly of the occult that Anne Moody runs a cursed pawn shop for the desperate, the curious, and the magickally inclined. Though the job is challenging, it keeps her under the radar. None of her customers have any inkling that she is a dragon sorceress with a power that’s been feared throughout history. However, she’ll need more than a dragon’s help when a stone statue ends up in her shop that is more than it appears. The statue is a gargoyle named Vale, who is shrouded in mystery and secrets. When she learns that Vale is possessed, and that the person responsible for cursing him plans to take over Las Vegas with a horde of demons from Hell, Anne realizes it is up to her to defy the Oddsmakers and save the city, and possibly the world
The dead are coming for you, Anne Moody…
The Oddsmakers have been overseeing the use of magick in Las Vegas since the city’s inception. For a dragon sorceress like Anne Moody, who tries to stay beneath the radar while running her cursed pawn shop, the Oddsmakers are the boogeymen she never wants to meet. They have the power to strip of her of her magick or worse if they deem her to be a danger to the city.
Unfortunately, the Oddsmakers want her for a mission which Anne can’t refuse even though she has her own agenda: investigating a sorcerer who possesses the power to not only create life, but to raise the dead. With the gargoyle Vale by her side and with the help of her magickal friends, Anne tracks strange creatures beneath the streets of Las Vegas. But when tragedy strikes close to home, Anne realizes she may have to risk the wrath of the Oddsmakers and call upon her dragon for help. Because in the isolated desert, far from the eyes of ordinary humans, she is about to confront her parents’ killer and nothing is going to stop her from finding revenge.
Trouble is heading your way, Anne Moody.
A monster is hunting Anne and her friends. Curses are running rampant through the Moonlight Pawn Shop. And now she’s learned that her mother was an enemy of the shapeshifter community. What is going on?
Dragon sorceress Anne Moody isn’t about to sit around bemoaning the mess that her life has become. She wants to know the truth: is her mother being unfairly accused, or was Iris Moody indeed the deadly weapon of the Oddsmakers? And who is the mysterious creature that is attacking Anne and her friends? As she soon discovers, sometimes the truth isn’t what you hope it will be.
From the depths of a dangerous speakeasy for shapeshifters to the city’s tallest landmark, Anne begins to unravel a terrible conspiracy she never expected to find. Even worse, her gargoyle boyfriend Vale stands at the heart of it all. With the Oddsmakers putting on the pressure, Anne is torn between the need to protect her loved ones and the desire to correct an injustice that might require the ultimate sacrifice…her humanity.
Anne can’t even save her reputation. How is she supposed to save the world?
As the most hated magickal being in Las Vegas, Anne is on edge and nervous about what’s on the horizon. Sure, she has her boyfriend Vale by her side along with her quirky friends, but the magickal community is large, and the target on her back is even larger. When she and her friends find a dead shapeshifter in the streets who’s carrying a piece of paper with her name on it, she just knows things are about to get hairy…and she’s not wrong.
A gut-wrenching encounter with an exotic animals breeder and a brush with ancient beings from North Africa are only the beginning, for Vagasso and the Oddsmakers are making their biggest move yet: opening the Infernus Rift to allow Hell to take over the Earth. Only Anne and her friends can stop it from happening. But will a dragon be enough? Or have they finally met their match?
The dramatic finale!
Under investigation by the military for treason, dragon sorceress Anne Moody is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Forget about running her cursed pawnshop–she needs to find the Oddsmakers and stop them before the government locks her and her friends away for good. But as she follows the trail of the magickal bosses, uncovering darker and darker secrets, she learns that everything that has happened until now has been child’s play. The Oddsmakers have set their sights on the ultimate evil: summoning the Devil himself. As allies fall and loved ones are hurt, Anne struggles to accept the realization that there may be no happy ending to this. If she fails, the world will end. Even for Las Vegas, the odds look grim.
